Objective of CSS

The Centre for Strategic Studies (CSS), Kolkata, established in April 2009 by a group of academics, administrators, scholars of the city of Kolkata, is a multidisciplinary research organization. The Centre is an autonomous institution registered under Societies Registration Act 1961. Its purpose is to extend hands to those in need of expert guidance and support for the solution of their problems.

The basic objectives :

1. Focus studies on the issues and problems of the marginalized sections and regions;
2. Extend scientific and technical solution to the problems that demand attention;
3. Develop multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach to the study of development issues;
4. Provide a forum for diverse groups in addressing concerns of importance for the State and people;
5. Establish network with similar institutions both in India and abroad;
6. Extend health, environmental, legal support to the problems as and when arise;
7. Offer academic and administrative support for a problem that warrants attention;
